Established in Copenhagen in 1999 by designer Rasmus Larsson, Design By Us was conceived as an antidote to safe, muted minimalism. Defying the pale restraint typical of traditional Nordic interiors, the studio injects contemporary Scandinavian design with theatrical glamour, decorative edge, and unapologetic character. Operating out of an industrial atelier in Copenhagen’s Nordvest district, the brand thrives on an intuitive, hands-on approach to materials. Larsson and his team are celebrated for sculptural luminaires that combine mouth-blown glass, polished marble, perforated metals, and vintage detailing. Standout creations like the fluted New Wave pendant, the glowing Ballroom collection, and expressive table lamps turn functional lighting into dramatic room jewelry.
