D8 Studio—the dedicated in-house design and research division of furniture brand District Eight—is celebrated for bridging traditional Vietnamese artisan woodcraft with contemporary industrial aesthetics. Operating directly alongside master joiners and metalworkers in Ho Chi Minh City, the studio designs furniture grounded in localized production methods. The studio is renowned for crafting architectural contract and residential furniture combining sustainably harvested hardwoods, cast iron, and saddle leather. Signature collections include the Tote Cabinet series, the sculptured Nen living collection, and robust modular seating systems. By pairing hand-carved joinery with blackened steel hardware, their work highlights material weight, textural contrast, and architectural permanence.
