Seppo Koho
Finnish architect and designer Seppo Koho (b. 1967) is internationally revered for transforming architectural timber into warm, glare-free lighting icons. Educated at the University of Art and Design Helsinki and Tampere University of Technology, Koho established his studio in 1995, focusing on humane, nature-inspired illumination. Koho is the creative soul behind Finnish lighting house Secto Design. Beginning with the classic Secto 4200 pendant in 1997, he authored Secto’s entire lighting collection, including the spherical Octo 4240, the conical Victo 4250, and the slender Owalo 7000. Handcrafted in Finland from sustainably sourced PEFC-certified birch, his slatted wooden shades cast gentle, diffused patterns while concealing the light source.
