Herman Studio

Aarhus-based design practice Herman Studio—founded in 2012 by architect Helle Herman Mortensen and designer Jonas Herman Pedersen—is celebrated for balancing architectural structure with tactile domestic warmth. Working across furniture, lighting, and interior architecture, the duo uses physical prototyping to ensure honest joinery and ergonomic grace. The studio has authored standout collections for leading Scandinavian design houses. For Danish brand ferm LIVING, they designed the acclaimed Herman Collection, featuring stackable dining chairs, barstools, and lounge seating defined by broad curved wooden backrests and slender powder-coated steel frames. They also develop solid-timber collections for Form & Refine, where Jonas serves as design director, and pieces for Warm Nordic and WOUD.
