Swedese is a renowned Swedish furniture brand, celebrated for its passion for design and sustainability. Founded in 1945 by Yngve Ekström, Jerker Ekström, and Bertil Sjöqvist, Swedese has become an iconic name in the Scandinavian design world.The brand's roots are deeply embedded in the small town of Vaggeryd, where it was one of the 16 furniture companies in the 1950s. Today, Swedese stands as the only remaining furniture company from that era in Vaggeryd, a testament to its enduring quality and design excellence.Swedese's designs are characterized by their strong identity and timeless appeal, allowing them to blend seamlessly into various environments. The brand's commitment to quality craftsmanship is evident in every piece of furniture, all of which are independently produced on their own premises in Vaggeryd and Äng, Sweden. This localized production process enables Swedese to maintain exceptional quality control and minimize their environmental impact.One of Swedese's most iconic designs is the Lamino armchair, designed by Yngve Ekström in 1956. This chair quickly became a design classic, known for its organic shape and comfort. In 1999, the Lamino was named the design piece of the century by the readers of Swedish interior design magazine "Sköna Hem".
