Floema Sofa Table - Ø60 cm

The Floema Sofa Table from Wendelbo takes a strictly geometric, material-driven approach to the traditional coffee table. Designed by Italian architect Luca Nichetto, it bypasses heavy, block-like wooden volumes in favor of a high-contrast structural profile. The foundation is built from an open, graphic framework of black powder-coated steel. This skeletal base keeps the piece visually light and transparent, preventing it from trapping shadows or dominating the floor plan in a tight living room. The defining feature is the stark material juxtaposition between the top and the slender frame. The tabletop—available in matte-polished Grey Emperador or Nero Marquina marble, solid walnut, or a highly resilient black laminate—is machined with completely softened, rounded edges. This strict absence of sharp corners provides a tactile hand-feel while ensuring the heavy stone or timber slab doesn't feel physically aggressive in a high-traffic seating area. Despite the thin gauge of the steel legs, the intersecting structural frame beneath the surface provides a highly rigid, unyielding base that will not warp or wobble under physical weight. Engineered as a flexible system rather than a single, static centerpiece, the Floema series is produced in multiple shapes—round, square, and an elongated ellipse—across precisely calibrated, varying heights. This specific scaling strategy allows you to use a single table as a quiet, standalone anchor, or cluster several pieces together to build an overlapping, multi-tiered surface that adapts dynamically to the length of a sofa or sectional. Stripped of unnecessary decorative skirting, it is a hardworking, architectural fixture that relies entirely on raw material honesty and precise proportions to anchor a space.
