VIPP began as a love story that took an unexpected turn into the world of design. The company's founder, Holger Nielsen, won a car in a lottery at a local soccer stadium in 1932. Instead of keeping the car, he sold it and bought a metal press. A few years later, his wife Marie needed a bin for her hairdressing salon. Holger crafted what is now known as the VIPP pedal bin in his one-man workshop.Holger could never have imagined that his pedal-controlled bin, designed in 1939, would evolve into a comprehensive design universe that includes accessories, furniture, and kitchens. The bin even inspired a design hotel concept. Today, VIPP is a family-owned, independent Danish design company run by Holger’s daughter, Jette Egelund, her two children Kasper and Sofie, and a team of 55 employees in Copenhagen, Denmark.VIPP is committed to delivering high-quality, long-lasting products that enhance everyday life.
