GamFratesi
GamFratesi Studio was established in 2006 by Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi. The studio is based in Copenhagen, yet their work is deeply influenced by both their Danish and Italian roots. GamFratesi's design takes its creative power from a fusion of tradition and renewal and in an experimental approach to their chosen materials and techniques. Stine Gam was born in Copenhagen in 1975 and graduated from the School of Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2006. Enrico Fratesi was born in 1978 in Pesaro, Italy, and graduated from the University of Florence in 2007 with a degree in architecture. Their combination of classic Danish craft tradition with a timeless Italian intellectual and conceptual approach is a cornerstone of their design process.Their designs are characterized by the balance between the classic and the unusual. The strong influence of their traditional background, combined with a continuous search for dynamic and bold designs, leads to distinctive yet minimalist pieces. They often draw on metaphors and symbolism in their design process, which results in a unique yet functional design. With an international approach, they create furniture, lighting, and accessories for some of the most renowned brands in the design industry, such as Hay, Gubi, and Fritz Hansen. GamFratesi has received numerous accolades for their unique approach to design, including the Wallpaper Design Award, the Elle Decoration International Design Award, and the Red Dot Design Award. Their work has been displayed in solo exhibitions and group shows worldwide.
