Portuguese-born, London- and Lisbon-based designer Hugo Passos (b. 1979) is celebrated for an understated, human-centered aesthetic that strips objects down to their quiet, functional essence. Graduating with a Master’s in Design Products from London's Royal College of Art, Passos established his studio in 2012, working across furniture and everyday objects. Passos achieved prominent acclaim through collaborations with leading Scandinavian and European manufacturers. For Danish heritage house Fredericia, he designed the celebrated Piloti table series—a family of solid-wood coffee and side tables defined by clean contours and seamless leg joints—and the Post chair collection. For Finnish heritage maker Iittala, he conceived refined tabletop tools that prioritize intuitive handling and tactile simplicity.
