Uruguayan-born, London-based designer Matteo Fogale (b. 1984) is celebrated for bringing narrative depth, craft research, and refined material contrast to contemporary furniture and lighting. Graduating in industrial design from the University of Art and Design Linz, Fogale collaborated with Patricia Urquiola and Barber & Osgerby before establishing his studio. Fogale gained global recognition through his defining partnership with Danish brand &Tradition. For &Tradition, he designed the acclaimed Caret Portable Lamp—an elegant metal table light inspired by green bankers' desk lamps—and the Drip collection. His celebrated independent research project, Apparata, investigated discarded paper composites and denim waste. His work spans marble homeware, bespoke joinery, and architectural fixtures prioritizing sustainable material sourcing.
