Keiji Takeuchi
Japanese industrial designer Keiji Takeuchi (b. 1977) is recognized for an understated, reductive aesthetic that distills functional objects into quiet, intuitive archetypes. Raised in New Zealand and educated in industrial design in Japan and France, Takeuchi spent a decade working alongside Naoto Fukasawa in Tokyo and Milan before establishing his Milan studio in 2015. Takeuchi achieved global acclaim through fruitful collaborations with premier international design houses. For Danish brand Fredericia, he designed the elegant Pal Stool—a solid-oak three-legged stool with an integrated stainless-steel foot ring. For Boffi, De Padova, and Living Divani, he conceived minimalist bathroom fittings and lounge seating, while developing the tactile Spring lamp for Oluce.
