Garth Roberts
Canadian-born industrial designer Garth Roberts is recognized for an understated, tactile approach that fuses North American pragmatism with refined European craft sensibilities. Educated in industrial design at Carleton University in Ottawa, Roberts lived and worked in Vancouver, New York, and Milan before establishing his design studio in Berlin in 2010. Roberts has authored acclaimed collections for leading European furniture and lighting houses. For Swedish rug specialist Asplund, he created poetic hand-knotted wool rugs, while designing the sculptural Carve table series for B&B Italia. His work for brands like Fritz Hansen, Casamania, and Vero balances muted color harmonies, precision solid wood milling, and slender sheet metal that emphasize functional calm.
