Danish ceramicist and designer Christian Buur Bangsgaard is celebrated for bringing architectural rhythm, modular repetition, and tactile raw clay to contemporary planters. Operating from his Danish studio, Bangsgaard pairs a deep fascination with graphic ring structures with time-honored ceramic throwing techniques. Bangsgaard achieved international design acclaim through his celebrated collaboration with historic Danish pottery house Bergs Potter. His defining masterpiece is the Planet Series—comprising the Saturn, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter terracotta pots. Characterized by taut, stacked concentric rings and subtle stepped lips, the design is hand-thrown in Tuscan terracotta, allowing plants to breathe while developing a beautiful natural patina.
