Edge Highback Chair

Cane-line Rope | Antracite
The Edge Highback Chair from Cane-line extends their weather-resistant seating line into a more substantial lounge format. Designed by the Danish studio Strand+Hvass, it relies on a rigid but lightweight aluminum frame, bypassing heavy, solid panels in favor of an open structure. The seat and oversized backrest are tightly wrapped in Cane-line Rope. This synthetic polypropylene fiber provides the tactile texture of natural rattan but is built strictly for outdoor longevity, ensuring it will not rot, snap, or fade under direct sunlight or heavy rain. Standing 94 centimeters tall with a deep 100-centimeter profile, the chair offers full head and neck support without relying on bulky upholstered cushions. The woven material has a natural, slight flex to it, molding to the user while remaining highly supportive. To handle heavy use, cast aluminum components are integrated directly into the armrests, providing extra structural strength at key stress points. Because the weave is entirely porous, water passes straight through the seat, allowing the chair to dry rapidly after a storm rather than trapping moisture on the surface. Despite its generous footprint, the design is highly pragmatic when it comes to storage. Just like the standard dining version, the Highback Chair is fully stackable. This allows you to easily condense oversized lounge seating into a tight corner during the off-season or when clearing a deck. Finished in a stark, architectural anthracite, it is a low-maintenance, heavy-duty fixture that brings straightforward Danish geometry to an outdoor space without visually dominating the landscape.
