{"title":"David Thulstrup","description":"Copenhagen-based architect and designer David Thulstrup is celebrated internationally for an approach rooted in structural honesty, spatial elegance, and sensory depth. After formative tenures in Paris with Jean Nouvel and in New York with Peter Marino, Thulstrup founded his studio in 2009. Gaining worldwide acclaim for designing the interior architecture of the celebrated restaurant Noma 2.0, he approaches furniture and lighting not as isolated objects, but as essential architectural components. \n\nHis work is characterized by honest material juxtapositions, pairing industrial metals like brushed steel with tactile wood, woven rush, and warm stone. For Møbel Copenhagen, he conceived the renowned Font seating collection, defined by its curved, enveloping forms. His lighting designs, including the acoustic textile Isol luminaire for Astep and the pleated Petite Machine series for Made by Hand, balance technical clarity with atmospheric warmth.","products":[{"product_id":"font-lounge-armchair","title":"Font Lounge Armchair","description":"The Font Lounge Armchair by Møbel Copenhagen is an award-winning Scandinavian masterpiece designed by famed architect David Thulstrup that strikes a flawless balance between minimalist geometry and rich comfort. Conceived to challenge the traditional concept of standalone lounge furniture, this innovative collection takes its name from the concept of pairing two contrasting, interacting objects: a slender, three-legged metal table and a lower, compact base table handcrafted from glazed ceramic. This deliberate juxtaposition creates a striking aesthetic interplay, where the cold, matte qualities of powder-coated steel beautifully contrast the soft, irregular, glossy glaze of fired clay. The tables are engineered with meticulous proportions allowing the higher metal piece to gracefully nest and overlap the ceramic pot-inspired base, creating a layered multi-surface system with integrated nesting storage. Available in Small, Medium, and Large iterations, the metal variants range across 36 cm, 46 cm, and 61 cm diameters with heights spanning 55 cm, 45 cm, and 35 cm, while the line can be customized in a sophisticated array of signature finishes—including Black, Light Ivory, Ochre, Pastel Blue, Steel Blue, and a raw Sandblasted Steel version.
