{"title":"Gianfranco Frattini","description":"Italian architect and designer Gianfranco Frattini (1926–2004) was a central protagonist of the golden age of mid-century Italian design. Graduating in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in 1953, Frattini trained under modernist master Gio Ponti before establishing his own studio, becoming a founding member of the Association for Industrial Design (ADI) and a frequent Compasso d'Oro nominee.\n\nFrattini is revered for his deep collaboration with master cabinetmaker Pierluigi Ghianda, resulting in extraordinary wooden furniture celebrated for invisible joints and refined tambour doors. He shaped the catalogs of Italy’s most prestigious manufacturers, creating the sculptural Sesann armchair and sofa for Cassina (reissued by Tacchini), the modular Model 849 armchair, and the Kyoto table for Poltrona Frau. In lighting, his partnerships with Artemide yielded landmarks like the Boalum flexible lamp and the Megaron floor lamp.","products":[{"product_id":"aspide-table-lamp-chrome","title":"Aspide Table Lamp","description":"Serpentine in shape, beautifully balanced and gleaming like a jewel, the Aspide Lamp by Gianfranco Frattini is both a brilliantly practical piece of industrial design and an irresistibly playful design statement. First developed in 1970, the Aspide is a highly adjustable table lamp that looks like no other light before or since, but which still expresses the material and aesthetic tastes of its time. The Aspide was designed as a versatile task lamp that can be manually adjusted to create either direct light for work or reading, or turned toward the wall to create a softer, ambient glow; infact the body of the lamp can be manually rotated 350o in both the neck and the head.","brand":"GUBI","offers":[{"title":"Default","offer_id":49793108934977,"sku":null,"price":2652.78,"currency_code":"DKK","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0832\/4150\/0993\/files\/73592bf6-48ad-42a5-a062-1b799127411a.webp?v=1793249724"},{"product_id":"model-597-floor-lamp-base-polished-aluminum-shade-cream-fringe-skarmlampor-gianfranco-frattini-beige","title":"Model 597 Floor Lamp - H45 cm","description":"First released in 1961, the Model 597 by Italian virtuoso Gianfranco Frattini is the lamp that launched him as a lighting designer. Its unique and playful form perfectly encapsulates Frattini’s extraordinary approach to the aesthetics of light. Model 597’s unique nylon fringes were inspired by both the world of fashion and the fringed entrance curtains commonly found in Italy’s bars and grocery stores in the late 1950s. Thanks to the array of lateral bulbs, the Table Lamps emit a 360o play of indirect light, softened by the fringes to create a rich ambient glow, while the reflective aluminum cover adds warmth to the uplight.Model 597 is light-hearted in expression, but serious about functionality – bringing sophistication, fun and character to interiors without resorting to superfluous decorative flourishes.","brand":"GUBI","offers":[{"title":"Default","offer_id":49793208222017,"sku":null,"price":4474.87,"currency_code":"DKK","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0832\/4150\/0993\/files\/7e9128a6-5111-41d8-a77a-30add9bc880f.webp?v=1793332269"},{"product_id":"model-597-table-lamp-base-polished-aluminum-shade-cream-fringe-bordslampor-gianfranco-frattini-vit","title":"Model 597 Floor Lamp - H29 cm","description":"First released in 1961, the Model 597 by Italian virtuoso Gianfranco Frattini is the lamp that launched him as a lighting designer.
