{"title":"George Nelson","description":"Architect, writer, and industrial designer George Nelson was a towering intellect of mid-century design. As design director for Herman Miller from 1947 to 1972, Nelson defined the look and feel of post-war domestic and office life, recruiting creative titans like Charles and Ray Eames, Alexander Girard, and Isamu Noguchi.\n\nOperating his prolific studio, George Nelson Associates, he conceived furniture not as isolated objects, but as harmonious elements of a total living environment. He transformed interior space with functional innovations like the storage wall and the L-shaped executive desk, while celebrating sculptural whimsy through pieces like the Coconut Chair, the playful Marshmallow Sofa, and his graphic wall clocks. His translucent polymer Bubble Lamps revolutionized lighting into weightless, radiant art.\n\nNelson’s humanist philosophy and clear-eyed functionalism bridged industrial pragmatism with sculptural warmth, shaping modern living for generations.","products":[{"product_id":"nelson-ball-bubble-pendant-lamp-large","title":"Nelson Ball Bubble Pendant Lamp","description":"Designed by George Nelson in 1947, the Nelson Bubble Pendant Lamp series comprises a range of pendant lighting solutions with varying spherical silhouettes.
